you could do it at home but it would be safer to go to a salon and you would have to call around for different prices. for temporary straightener there are straighteners you use like a curling iron can get at beauty supply store or walmartIs it possible to chemically straighten your hair at home, or do you have to get hair dressers to do it?
No you can go to a hair store and buy a boxed hair straighen chemical. I think possibly walmart or kmart might sell them to, i'd go to a hair store though, i would trust it better and ask the workers they would know more about whats best.
Yeah. you can get a perm and it automatically straightens your hair. (You might need a family member to do it for you. If you follow the directions really carefully you could do it yourself) It would help if you went to the hair salon to get a blow dry (after the perm) it only costs about 10-15 dollars. Trust me, its worth it cuz your hair will come out nice and wavy at the tips. it'll look hot! If you have dark hair, I would recommend dark and lovely. If not, use nature. You can get all these at a beauty supply store or walgreens. Good luck!

yes it is possible to chemically straighten your hair at home but i would recommend to not use it at all. i chemically straightened my hair and it ruined my hair, it made my hair dry and fried out. if you dont believe me try it and you will see what happens and im sure you will regret doing it just like i did. please consider other ways to straighten your hair like a flat iron/straightner its better than having messed up hair.Is it possible to chemically straighten your hair at home, or do you have to get hair dressers to do it?

How much should I tip my hair dresser who works from HOME?
Ive been with my stylist for about 7years now and 3 salons, she recently had a baby and is now doing hair from her house which is a good 40 minute drive for me without traffic. She said she would lower her price due to the inconvenience so when I went to her house for the first time she only took off $13, that about covered my gas....Anyway I usually tip between $20-$25 depending on highlights so do I still give this much of a tip with her working from home now and collecting 100% profit and not splitting with the salon? Also, were talking cutting hair in the garage, washing in the kitchen sink, and her 2 children home. I feel like Im the one doing the favor by still using her but getting ripped off. Ive compared prices with 2 other girls who do hair from home and they were both $25 cheaper too. Any suggestions would be great.How much should I tip my hair dresser who works from HOME?

But she is, however, making more money cutting your hair at her home than she was in cutting it at a salon. Talk to her about it. Come to a mutual understanding before your next appointment. And emphasize the long, one way drive you must take to get there. Let her know that any decision you must make with using her in the future is a matter of weighing the loss of time on the road vs. the cost to your pocketbook.
If you're simply trying to find a way to break this business relationship, then now is the best time. No need to call and break it up unless you do have a good friendship. Do you meet for coffee now and again? If not, then don't worry about calling her. If it is a friendship you wish to keep, then do talk to her about your issues.

The fact that you have to travel a really long way and feel like you're doing her a favor, or that you don't like the environment she does your hair in, has nothing to do with it. If she does an excellent job on your hair, she's still running a business no matter where it is, so you tip her 15 to 20 percent. However, it sounds like the drive and the environment are making you less than happy with the service, no matter how good your hair looks. In that case, you don't short your stylist on her tip; you find another good stylist closer to home in a proper shop. It's the only fair way to handle this (I've had this experience too).
Tip her based on her service and how well she does your hair rather than thinking about what she does with the money. Typically any tips you give the stylists, go directly to them. They pay a salon fee that is not deducted from tips. (Usually)

I went to a hair dressers had it mail box red on one side and deep purple on the other side, Its been a while since i have had it done so it has faded a lot to a very light orange/red. also you did not go to school for hair so you do not know what you are doing
at the salon we can do highlights with a lightener...bleach...that is safer than what you can buy as well as lighten up your natural haircolor to a blonde color. thus giving your hair a more natural blonde color and not a flat tone or orange/brassy gold tones!
best of luck...please bring a picture to the salon so together you and the colorist can decide on the best outcome for your hair!
Lightning your hair is very harsh only a Professional who has been trained can lift your hair to the right stage (level of blond) and protect it at the same time remember healthy hair is usually only one level of color {up or down- dark or lighter}

i think itd be smartest to go to a hair dresser. i dont know how much they cost there lol. but if u screw up at home...u might not be able to fix it. at least at a salon, they wont screw up.

Make sure not to wash your hair the day of the treatment or to scratch your head. Please follow the manufactures guides and if it's burning rinse, rinse rinse!!! You may feel a tingling sensation but, that is okay. Also make sure to moisturize your hair really good after wards.

Keith Urban proved he's a great person for performing even though Ellen was a no show. What do you think: staged or not? Why would TMZ cameras be at some hairdressers home when they came to get the dog back? The whole thing was staged. There is a tape of her lawyer threatening the animal shelter before she went on her show. I don't doubt her emotions, but this whole thing would never have happened if people who've gotten too big for their britches would do things the way us 'ordinary' people have to, and I'm not just talking about Ellen. The lawyer for the shelter has emails from the hairdresser's family refusing to come in and fill out paperwork when asked. They probably could have the dog right now if they had done what everyone else has to do. Hollywood has a way of making its residents believe they get their way and you cry about it publicly when you don't.I feel for Ellen Degeneres with the dog thing, but what was TMZ doing @ her hair dressers home if not staged?

I think it was staged, and it reflects poorly on them that they would do all this and try to strong arm the rescue group into returning the dog rather than going by the rules. I read that the woman was even willing to let them complete the adoption application online, but the daughter complained that it was too long. This poor woman can't even operate her business because these loonies are threatening and harassing her. Shame on Ellen, her publicist and anyone else involved in this mess.
OF COURSE it was a big performance for the camera, I am sure they felt bad, but come on they had the dog only 2 weeks. For the animal agency's efforts to make sure the dogs are placed in good homes etc.... this is the thanks they get death threats, harassing phone calls all because a celebrity (no matter how nice) felt they don't have to be held to contracts like everyone else. I think this was not a good thing that Ellen did.

BUT they'll take better care of your hair for the initial dying.

yes, it is better. but you should do it from the box because you dont have sto spen as much money and you wouldnt have to keep on going every few months to get it done. also, if you get it done at the salon, and you want to die your hair from the box, since you have all of those cemicals from the salon, it can turn your hair green or another colour. i dont think its worth getting it done.

yes salons generally use colour that is not publicly available and colorist know the rules and laws of hair colour to get you the result you want hair is not just a piece of fabric that when a dye is applied to it will come out exactly what is stated on the box there are so many factors that go into getting the correct and true result and should be left to the professionals unless you have spent years learning colour and deal with multiple colour scenarios every day

yes, it is better. but you should do it from the box because you dont have sto spen as much money and you wouldnt have to keep on going every few months to get it done. also, if you get it done at the salon, and you want to die your hair from the box, since you have all of those cemicals from the salon, it can turn your hair green or another colour. i dont think its worth getting it done.

yes salons generally use colour that is not publicly available and colorist know the rules and laws of hair colour to get you the result you want hair is not just a piece of fabric that when a dye is applied to it will come out exactly what is stated on the box there are so many factors that go into getting the correct and true result and should be left to the professionals unless you have spent years learning colour and deal with multiple colour scenarios every day

Yes. You can go to any drugstore %26amp; get a ';box perm';. You (or someone else) can perm your hair at home, however I think going to a stylist is better b/c the products are of better quality.
My wife has afro hair and she straightens her hair at home with that stuff. Be carefult though that stuff is pretty powerful don't leave it on too long.
Best thing to do is find a Hairdressers/Beauticians suppliers near you they usually have a shop attached to the warehouse and sell all the same stuff you see in the Salons.
you can buy kits at the store but i wouldnt recommend it. the japanese hair straightening system is the best at 500 bucks depending on length. there are relaxers for less but are very damaging. the home kits you need to do carefully if you want to still have hair after, go to a BEAUTY SUPPLY store and have them explain it to you if you do decide to do it yourself
you can go to a pharmacy / convient store and buy one... its like a hair dye but its not its a striaghtner

1.half way through she told me because i have dyed my hair it could snap of...(half way through!!!)
2.when it grew back it was wavy as hell and bobby pins became my best friend.

Is a hair stylist/dresser supposed to be fast or slow?
Would you prefer a quick working hair stylist (who has much experience) Or a slow hair stylist...
And why please.
I live in Missouri my mom does hair, she has been doing it for around 20 years now and works quick. She knows whats shes doing, not not measure things, and people she works with believe that a SLOW hair stylist is best? Whaaat?

Speed doesn't always matter. The end result does. A good stylist can give you the look you want without ruining your hair. I don't want to sit in the chair all day for a simple color and cut, but when you work too quickly you can sometimes make mistakes (missing spots that needed coloring, uneven cuts). It all depends on what work you're having done, how long/thick the hair is, etc.

(b. Do I strip my hair, and bleach it in the same day?
(c. Can I strip my hair; and then add the dirty blonde? Will it still be orange?
(d. How many times will I have to strip my hair?
(e. Should I bleach my hair, dye it a light brown, then wait a month and then add heavy highlights?

Depending on how many times you have colored your hair, and how much build you have, It will take alot of bleaches, because when you have build up in your hair, The bleach won't lighten the ends. The roots, Yes, The ends no. You can bleach the hair in one sitting, As long as you don't go over the yellow blonde stages(Which really, You don't need to go that light, You just go light enough to color your hair.).You don't need to strip your hair, It does the same thing. Normally hairdressers will bleach and strip the color out but it will take some time. However your hair will turn out a redy sort of colour because hair is made up of mostly black and red pigments. You will cause quite a bit of damage unfortunately if you plan to go through with this.

The difference between ';Demi Permanent'; and ';Permanent'; hair color is that the demi colors do not have the capacity to remove natural melanin. Since you're only going darker that's all you need! Make sure you are using professional shampoos and conditioners designed for color treated hair as these will save the integrity of your hair and keep it from fading. \
