No but maybe you should cut it a month, two months, before your wedding to see if you like it. If not you still have time to let it grow... if you do you can get a trim before the wedding date!
No I don't think this is ridicules at all, but I would do it a little in advance just in case you don't like it so that it will have time to grow out.
