I'm 35 and I've decided I need a change, and I want a new short summer cut. It will be a big change, but one I'm ready for and looking forward to. Any suggestions on cut and color? How about some advice from women who have done this. I have an oval shaped face and wavy medium brown hair.I'm cutting my long hair short. Not medium, but short, or very short. Any style ideas?
Good for you for making the choice to cut your hair short. You'll find it much lighter and easier to care for, and you'll get a lot of compliments. Long hair is beautiful but not very practical and not a style you can keep forever.
You can do just about any style with an oval face. If you still want a little length, you can do an inverted short bob, perhaps around ear length. But your best bet is probably to go with a short pixie that gives you some volume and texture on top and it short enough to completely free you from ponytails or hair falling in your face.

My gf got her haircut short a while back and she asked to have it cut above the collar and above the ear lobes on the sides with lots of layers. A very nice haircut. Not sure what you mean by very short, but this is a pretty short haircut, and this woiuld be a tranistional haircut if you are looking to go boys style cropped cut later.
i had long hair and then i got it cut the style that i went with is called inverted its really short in the back and gradually gets longer its about at about a little higher than my chin and everyone i know says it looks REALLY good so i think you should get it inverted also i think u also just ask your stylist what they think their the experts on hair and went to school for it they might have an idea
i did the same thing cut my hair from long to short but what i did was that i got like a Victoria beckham look (like a bob thing) or just cut it shoulder Lenght and then you barrel blow dry it with your hair coming towards your face, now that's how i have my hair now! Hope this helped!
