My husband asked me to cut my long hair short. I'm going to, but need some ideas and advice.?

My husband has always liked short hair, and mine has always been long. I'm ready to cut it, (because I want to), and am looking for some ideas and comments. I'm ready to go pretty short, and have no idea what looks good on an oval face. I'm in my 40's by the way. Thanks. Do you think I will regret cutting my hair short? My husband asked me to cut my long hair short. I'm going to, but need some ideas and advice.?
Yes I think you will. I would never make my wife or girlfriend---seeing as I'm not with anyone yet---cut her hair. But if you feel that you truly are ready then go for it. Maybe you should do a little at a time, kinda transition into shorter hair in stages. That way if you don't like it it will only take a year or two to grow it back to how it was, not three or four.My husband asked me to cut my long hair short. Making the decision to finally let go of your long hair and cut it off can be tough because you know you'll likely never grow it out again, but it's usually the right choice, especially if you're in your 40s. Many women get anxious or even cry when their hair is cut, but once they get used to the short hair, they realize it is much easier to maintain and that they can still be attractive. Short hair will feel light and freeing, and you'll be amazed at the compliments you get from women.

You're lucky your husband likes short hair; most guys prefer long. Especially since he likes the idea, he can be more supportive during the process.

Just about any style works for an oval face; since you're ready to go all the way to short you should look into pixie (crop) styles. Even though they're short, many pixies still offer some texture, volume on top, and visual interest, while being wash and wear and completely freeing you from ponytails, buns, or hair falling in your face.

Don't worry about donating your cut hair; most of the donation organizations are flooded with more hair than they can use. If your hair is very long, you might consider having it cut in a single braid and keeping your cut braid as a memento. This also has the advantage of getting the ';hard part'; over with quickly so you're not anxious about seeing sections of your long hair hitting the floor.

Congrats on making the choice to cut your hair, and good luck.
You will regret it. I cut mine off and I let it grow back out the minute I cut it and it has taken 2 years.

I'm not saying that he should MAKE you cut your hair, but I also think that a woman should look good for her man so if he likes it short and you don't mind cutting it then try a shorter cut, but not too short. Work your way to shortness so you don't freak yourself out.

My hubby likes my hair longer so I am always trying to keep it long so I know how you feel.
it would have been great if u would have provided sum pics. Any ways oval shape faces can pull off any look... If you have straight hair, what i would suggest is an angular bob (where the length is longer towards the chin and shorter at the nape of your neck) its this years look.

Ask your stylist to keep it 2inches below your jawline... you donot want it to be chopped off at your jawline, it will only frame your face and look bring out unwanted lines and if u have full cheeks its a complete no no!!

heres a slideshow of stars sporting this look.

i love gwyneth paltrow's cut.. its very very chic (and easy to maintain, and can be tied up when you dont want to wear it down.)

It's short, simple, and you can't really go wrong with it.

I think it would work at any age too.

Something like this. As for regretting, it, that's personally feeling. I shaved my head bald, and to this day I do not regret it. I didn't like it, but I knew that it would grow back.
Go for it. Suprise his with a collar length pixie, ask to have it cut mid ear with bangs and lots of layers. This is a refreshing and stylish summer look that you will find low maintenance. You will be happy with the results.
Locks of Love. Ask about that and donate your hair to someone who would really appreciate it.
