Girls: have you ever had your hair cut short, only to find out - AFTER IT'S CUT - your bf liked it more long?

I am SO annoyed about it.

I have my hair cut in an assymetric bob (which - to be honest - I hate) and I told my boyfriend I'd had it short.

What doubly annoys me is that I'd had my hair done in a (longer) bob about two months ago after he asked me whether I'd get it cut short! The cut was MY choice, though.

I don't think I really suit long hair anyway. It gets in the way and is too much effort to style.Girls: have you ever had your hair cut short, only to find out - AFTER IT'S CUT - your bf liked it more long?
i have just learned to ignore them to be honest.

i am a hairdresser and am constantly changing my hair. when i go dark he says he prefers it blonde when i go blonde he prefers it dark and the same with long/short.

they cant seem to cope with change lol.

there was only one hair style he said he actually liked when i had all myhair cut over really short and he said he liked it?????

that is the only hair style i look back at and think oh dear but he liked it???

or was too polite to say i looked like an egg head hahahaGirls: have you ever had your hair cut short, only to find out - AFTER IT'S CUT - your bf liked it more long?
Sweetie you need to mature a bit. It's obvious you only hate it because he doesn't like it. What you do with your appearance is your choice and no one else's. I cut my hair 2 weeks ago because I live in Arizona and its scortching hot and my hair, which was almost at my waist, made it worse. I know my bf hates short hair but I really could care less. It's my head that burning up and my hair that's getting sweaty and disgusting when I'm out in the sun. Now that I did it he tries to act like he likes it but I know he thinks I look like a boy but I really could care less and you know why? Well because my head is lighter now, it takes me 5 minutes to do my hair as opposed to the 30 to 45 that it took before and my head's not as hot anymore.
I used to have my hair short, very very short and wore it like that for ages as it gets very hot and humid in SA. When we moved to Uk i started growing my hair and then only my hubby told me he prefers me with longer hair. I was not very worried about it though because i know what suits my face and what not and after all it is my choice if i want my hair short or long and i don't wear my hair in a way that he prefers it is my hair and my choice.:)
totally.

My hair used to be quite long, and one day i asked my boyfriend if he thinks i would suit shorter hair. he was so enthusiastic i thought i'd get it cut, only to find out that he actually hated it and it really didnt suit me at all. i hated it too. thankfully, my hair has grown back now and it's never going short again!!
It doesn't matter it will grow back stronger than ever!

If your boyfriend has the nerve to tell you he doesn't like your hair and make you feel self consious about your appearance then he is really not worth your while...

What a nasty old ****! If i told my girl that i didn't like her hair, I would not only sound like a little 'gok wan' gay fashion expert but I would also be well out of order....

HAVE YOUR HAIR THE WAY YOU LIKE IT!
Yeah... but my hair was a bit of a nuisance long and it wasn't in the best condition so I like it shorter, but I am growing it out again now because he likes it long! The things we do for love... I'm not really that into hair anyway, it grows again so I don't care too much what it looks like!
I've had my hair cut short and dyed brown (previously long and blonde), because my boyfriend said it would suite me, and it does.

Let your hair grow, and maybe then find a hair style that you boyfriend will like, but what also suites you and that you also like.
Not really but my hair is dark brown naturally, and I dyed it blonde to try and impress a guy, and then when I got it dyed back to brown, I was talking to him about my hair and he said 'i liked it when it was blonde, that was nice'. IRRITATING or what!? lol.
I did this with my last hair cut about 12 months ago, it was half way down my back and had it cut up to my ears and cried when I got home from the hairdressers cos it was to short. It has now nearly grown back and won't have it cut that short again
i know exactly how you feel.

i just got on with it and ignored his comments. i try to make it look as good as possible and that is it. if he doesnt like it tell him that it is your choice and that he has nothing to do what you do with your hair!!!
I really like girls with long hair, but I could never have it myself as it would be to much effort to maintain it and it would get in the way. I suppose that long hair makes a girl more feminine.
I'm a sucker for long hair, if it looks nice....waste length or longer....and you own me...if it's dark color, or black...nothing else matters.

toss in the nylons and heeled boots....aaaaah ok that's enough of that
No, I've always known that my guy likes my hair best when its long, but he also says that as long as it makes me happy (no matter the length), he'll be happy with it too.
no I haven't but I'd just tell him to deal with it. lol

Maybe you can help?

Oh Come on! How shallow is that! If your bf is upset with you for cutting your hair short he's a loser! If he loves you he should love you whatever you look like.
I do what I like. LOL I'm only growing mine long cause I'm getting married year after next and want long golden locks (Yes, my hair really does grow that slow LOL It takes forever. Had it short about 6 months ago and it's not even a bob yet.)

I think I look older with it very short but my fiance likes long hair. I think this has something to do with men in general cause I don't know many that like women with short hair. My guy say's he likes to run his fingers through it. But when I cut it 6 months ago he had absolutely no say. LOL

Go with styles that suit your face and YOU like unless like me your have a reason to grow it. After all he can't stop you cutting it and if he don't like, well that's stuff ****. It's your hair and he's supposed to like you for you not your hair.

Good look.
If I ever had a gf like Binka, Thirst, Sazz, Evany, Ladya or Shorty, I'd dump her and thank my lucky stars that I did so before I married her! In practice, I'd doubt I've even look once at a woman like that, let alone go out with her.

Maybe it's an omen, but I really do not think that anyone who cuts her hair short after knowing how much I loved it long, and then doesn't care, is capable of loving me, and I'm best away from her.

I find drastic and rapid changes unsettling. A bit like a doggie person who wakes up and finds their labrador has overnight turned into a cat. Never again do I want to marry someone who turns from the girl I fell in love with into an ugly spiteful monster. Better to hold out until I find someone who finds my foibles inspiring and beautifying.

Before anyone goes and tells me I am being hypocritical, I would not cut or shave my beard either if my gf loved it, regardless how itchy and inconvenient it got. It is respect for the sense of beauty of the one I love which is at stake here.

However, if a girl decides that at heart she is a short-haired person, then it would not be true to herself to grow her hair and be filled with resentment against me. That sort of relationship is doomed from the start. I must take her as I find her or leave her.

I asked a question a while back, and the unanimous response was that if I loved long hair, it was better to find a girl with shoulder-length hair willing and eager to grow it long, than a girl who had had hip-length hair all her life, was sick of it, and was going to restyle it in the next few months.

There are many personal things that seem important to some people, but really do not matter to others. If your hair is one of those with your bf, then just do what you feel is right for you. It seems with your bf you got mixed messages - he liked your longer bob better than your assymetric one (and so do you, I think). He is honest with you, but I do not think it is a big deal with him. Silly mistake, but then we all do those.

I cannot answer the question, since the last time I had a major haircut was when I was 19 (cutting out the last layer of a dreadful mullet I had when I was nearly 16), and just before I had my first gf.
