I've always had really long hair, about waist length but would really love to cut it short, like a short bob. ?

Has anyone else cut their hair like that from that length? And how do you pluck up the courage to do it?! I don't really want to it in little steps as it would take to long! Thanks! :)I've always had really long hair, about waist length but would really love to cut it short, like a short bob. ?
I feel you. My hair used to be a little longer than my middle back and I chopped it all off to donate it to the locks of love foundation.

There's many other foundations you can donate your hair to instead of throwing it all in the garbage. :-)

I loved the short results so much that I have kept my hair short ever since. Short hair is fun, different and very easy to work with.

Just look for styles that will fit your face shape and you should be good to go.

Hope this helps.I've always had really long hair, about waist length but would really love to cut it short, like a short bob. ?
I took it a step further and went from long hair to a chelsea (everything buzzed except my bangs and sides) a few months back. It didn't take any courage at all... I just did it before I had a chance to think about it and chicken out. I'm glad I did, too, as I have never had my scalp feel so nice and cool and like it can breath (I have really thick, fine, curly hair so my scalp always suffered). It's also waaaay easier to take care of (short hair in general, not just chelseas). Your hair grows faster when it's short as well, so if you decide you don't like it it won't take very long to grow it back.
Find a program like Locks of Love, where you can donate your hair to a woman with cancer. If you have a reason like that, it might help motivate you.

And remember, hair grows back! You'd be surprised how fast! When I cut my hair from waist length to above my shoulders, the main thing I noticed was how much less shampoo I went through. It's also way easier to brush, it saves me about 15 minutes a day. And it's lighter, I actually get less headaches now.
Hi there, i used to have my hair so long i could sit on it. With my mum being a professional hairdresser she could advise me on what would suit my face. I think if you are certain you want it shorter, ask your hairdresser for their opinion as they will know what would suit your face more. Perhaps go for shoulder length first and see how you like that first, before going too short and then not liking it.

Good luck with your decision and i hope i have helped :)
I would say it would depend on the shape of your face and your overall personality. You might want to try on some wigs with different styles to see which one ';speaks'; to you more. Look through some hair mags to see what you would like best. Some bobs are classic on some people but that same bob may look others matronly, know what I mean?
My hair used to be quite long and I did not want to cut it, but I did. My wife went with me and gave moral support. Sometimes it is easier to go to the salon with a friend who supports your desire for change
NOOOOO! don't get it cut off! long hair is luxurious and everyone wants it, no one wants a bob they are vile.....seriously don't get it cut off!
