My 13 year old daughter has very long hair, right below her breasts, and cares for it very well. She as been having a lot of fights with her hair though lately, and ive been nagging to get a shorter haircut. I think she would look good with a boy cut or even done with the clippers. I hear these styles are easy to use, easy to take care of, and easy to make. You arethe parent and if you feel it needs to be short, then that is that. Don't make a big deal about it, just plan a evening when you will be giving her the cut and have everything ready. Give her a brief talk on how her hair is unruly and needs to be shorter and then have her get in the chair. I would not tell her how short you plan on going as it will only upset her. Start by the back really short and then work your way to the front. You could try using the clippers, but it might be better to use them forthe followup haircuts. if she has hair that long and it is all one length then its more work to use clippers all the time than it is to take her to supercuts once a month.
if it is all one length its pretty hard to **** it up so why pay more!?
if you cut her hair so she looks like a boy all her friends are going to probably harass her and she will feel horrible. a thirteen year old girl should have beautiful long hair!!!

If she cares for it well then why do you need to cut it? Going from long hair to very short is a very dramatic change! I recommend getting it cut slowly to the length SHE WANTS and gradually cutting it shorter. Otherwise, she may not be happy with the cut, and it takes a LONG time to grow back...
tbh it is her choice what she wants to do with her hair and if u was my mum id tell u to f off because noway would i let anywan cut my hair unles they was a hairdresser and so waht if she has fights its her hair she could tie it up in a bunch either way its her hair and girls look very stupid with short hair and if u make her get it cut like a boy then you wil just be causing her bullying at school cause everywan would pick on herr ... if ur going to giv her no choice but to get her hair cut short then at least let her have it just below her shoulders
it is her hair. Anyway, imagine what would happen if she hates it...definitely not good. Also put yourself in her position. You wouldn't want someone messing with your body (hair included) without your permission, especially because she takes good care of her hair.

i had loooong hair past my butt till i was like 9 then i donated it to locks of love and i've always regreted it. dont do it, expecially to save money. hair is the only thing a teenage girl has control over in her life. MAKE HER keep it, she'll thank you later.

When my daughters has waist length hair I cut my waist length hair very short like a boy my girls haste their very short haircuts bit I love their very short haircuts I will keep their hair very short from now on
