should i let her? her hair is currently to her butt and it curls at the ends....

which means brushing is a little hard for her cause it tangles.

Yes I think you should let her cut her hair, if she doesn't like it then she has plenty of time to grow it back before she really starts to care about her appearance.

Pro EASIER TO MANAGE, MAKES HER HAPPY, LEARNS TO REALLY WANT WHAT SHE ASKS FOR.

Con HATES IT LATER ON

but when it comes down to it, it's always is your decision you know your daughter and know if she really wants it or just because her friend has the haircut. Just don't let your bad experiences cloud your judgment. My 5 year old wants to cut her long hair into a short bob, should i let her?
You little 5 year old is not just your 5 year old ,she is also her own little person.Irelay feels like a bob then maybe you should help her with some pictures and let her pick out the style and let her experiance the big girl decisionf making her own decision..

Im sorry to say your little girl is growing up..

Its so presious to watch them become indiviuals.
I bet she likes Dora!! The others are right, she will get it cut, and say ';Okay, I want it back long now!'; I wanted to cut my hair when I was five also, and I quickly grew out of that stage. She's trying to assert her independence. Let her dress herself for a couple of weeks, and she will forget about it.
Your 5 year old asked to get a bob? What 5 year old asks to get her hair cut? Her hair is too wavy I think for a bob, just take some length off it, Mommy. EDIT: If she wants to donate it (10 inches...minimum) then that is a remarkably wonderful thing for her to do and she should be very proud of herself for doing that, too!
I think you should. I cut my daughter's hair short once on accident, but it is just hair and it will grow back. Not to mention, it is much easier for your daughter to take care of her own hair if it is shorter... it will teach her responsibility!
totally! its easier to manage and if you don't like it, it'll grow back! besides, i think that 5yr olds look cute with short hair! and if she hates her hair, then tell her that it was her choice so no bitchin about it! ofcourse, dont say bitchin
If your daughter wants her hair cut into a bob let her cut it. It's her hair. I suggest that you save the saying ';no'; for the things that matter in life. Hair doesn't matter.
no shes only 5. youre the mom my 5 year old neice wants a horse. And? Her mom doesnt tell her yes. 5 year olds change their minds every 6 minutes
yeah, she should cut it if she wants to becuz it is easyer to keep it neat when its short, i had to when i was younger =P
Go for it! I think the style would match her face shape.

Don't worry, a kid's hair grows back really fast if she doesn't like it :P
sure, i guess. personally, i like longer hair better, but if she wants to cut her hair, let her. It is HER hair anyway.
you should NOT post pictures of your kids on the interent you know.

answer myn please http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;
No!!! My mom did the exact thing..

She regreted it ever sincce..

Plus so did I..I wanted my hair long a month later..

DONT DO IT
Yes, that makes sense, since it'll be easier to manage. She can always grow it back once she gets older. Good Luck!
omg sooo cute but um u might want to if u think it will be more easier for you to manage. But not nothing to grown.
well if her hair is difficult to comb

i think it would be smarter to cut it or to just get a trim
Bobs are adorable on little girls! You should let her, it would be cute
Why not!
Yes it is her hair and if it looks bad it will grow back so Why not
It's her hair. Yea
yes you should because it is good to let them make choices for them selves at a young ags
Aw, you're a good mom for really thinking about this!

I would say yes, but with one caveat. I remember what it was like to be 5, and 5 year olds don't think in terms of practicality and permanency. I would explain to her that you can't put the hair back if she doesn't like the cut and it will take a long time to grow long again.

ALSO: I saw the bob you discussed in your question. I think you need to explain to your daughter that since her hair is curly, she won't look like the girl in the picture. (Unless you feel like straightening her hair everyday, which I sincerely doubt.) I just don't want your daughter to be disappointed when her hair doesn't look exactly like the girl in the picture's hair.

I remember when I was 5, I wanted braids like Pippi Longstocking. I was crestfallen when my mom braided my hair and the braids didn't stick out in the air like Pippi's. The point is: 5 year olds don't think about these things. You must explain them.
aww. it would be a shame. her hair is beautiful. maybe have her cut is less than a bob. you need ten inches to onate to locks of love.
