Don't want to type it all out again so I'll just copy and paste it:
I really want to find the courage to cut all my really long butt length blonde hair off really short. I'm really tired off my hair, and I want something new, and something that will be easier to manage. But I just can't find the heart too. I'm only 15 and I know long hair gets all the guys, and I don't want to get turned down because I have really short hair.
Also, I don't want to walk into a salon and get all my long hair cut off really short with everyone noticing. It'd be too scary. With everyone looking at me and all my long blonde hair falling to the floor, I'd get incredibly nervous. But I don;t want to cut it myself, and no one else I know could cut it for me.
So, to any girl who had really long hair and cut it off really short, can you tell me what made you do it and please give me the courage to cut all this long hair off. Thanks! How am I going to be able to cut my long hair really short?
Make an appointment sometime in 2-4 weeks to have your hair cut on a Friday afternoon or maybe the day after Thanksgiving. Commit to that day and don't let yourself back out. Tell some friends about the appointment to have them make sure you don't back out. Between now and then, have one last hurrah with your long hair and really enjoy wearing it in various styles, etc.
When the day comes, have a friend be with you for moral support. If you don't want your length cut in public, you can make the first snip, which is usually the most scary/emotional part, at home. Before you leave for the salon, braid your long hair in one or two braids depending on thickness and have your friend snip them at your shoulders. That will leave you with a rough shoulder-length cut that doesn't take any skill and will be a starting point for the salon to finish your style. Don't be surprised if you cry or get emotional; that's normal for such a big change. You can keep your braid as a memento. (Don't worry about donating, many of the donation places sell or trash much of the hair they get.)
I'd suggest going to the short style you want all at once, not in stages. Otherwise, you'll get nervous/anxious when it comes time to cut each ';stage'; (classic -%26gt; waist; waist -%26gt; mid-back; mid-back -%26gt; shoulders; shoulders -%26gt; short) and you'll have to make a lot of expensive salon trips. How am I going to be able to cut my long hair really short?
Go for it! i used to have my hair down to my waist. my hair is currently at my collarbone.
if i were you i would do it. hair is just hair, it'll grow back! :)
I recommend you have it cut in stages. When you say really short, I am thinking you eventually want like a pixie haircut. You can start by trimming it yourself, like cut of three inches. Then in a couple of weeks have it styled professionally. The key is to find a good stylist. Let the stylist know you want to eventually want to go really short, but not all at once. Ask to have it cut just below your shoulders, with some bangs and layers. Then during Christmas break have it cut again, this time short-short. I think you will be surprised to find a lot of guys prefer short hair, it is such a refreshing look that shows self confidence and style. You will definitly get noticed more in short hair. I think you should do it, you will be happy with the results..
You know what you need to do!
Start cutting it shorter! Not short, but shorter! Get a few inches cut off, maybe some layers and bangs or whatever you'd like, to spice it up, and continue to cut it each month, or every few months if you don't have the money(Lord knows I wouldn't) and when it gets to be the length you want it you'll only receive a few comments because it was a gradual decrease of hair! (:
Plus, you can try a bunch of different hairstyles. Who knows, maybe you'll fancy hair to your shoulders, or mid back, just because it looks better and is lighter! :D
