Ask for about 3 layers and feathering around the face.
It will brighten up your bone structure.

I agree with the first girl, grow it out. I think you'd be much happier with longer hair. Also, I think laers would look great along with the bangs she advised. And definitely go with highlights or ';lowlights.'; Try out a golden brown.
