Black hair, i dyed it a lighter colour (went to the hair dressers) but hasnt really changed, what to do?

Okay so about 4 weeks ago i went to the hairdressers to dye my hair a dark brown (number 4 on the chart i think).

My hair is pretty much black (number 2) and she said it would take a few weeks to change but i would see it progress, so far i've seen nothing. Only when im standing under light can i see a browny-red tint on the top of my head.

Everybody who sees it says it hasnt really changed at all, and i really want it to change but i know i cant use the supermarket stuff now anymore.

The hairdresser also told me repeatdly to keep using anti dandruff shampoo, because she said it will help dyed hair lighten up. But i've been reading things online and it just says anti-dandruff strips hair dye out of the hair, so i don't know what do now.

Also after she dyed it, about an hour later she washed through my hair with strong anti-dandruff shampoo because she wanted to see some result, (nothing happened) but she kept saying something would, but so far nothing.

Has this happened to anybody else? and is there anything you can suggest to help the hair dye come out...?Black hair, i dyed it a lighter colour (went to the hair dressers) but hasnt really changed, what to do?
Since you have black hair your suppose to pick 1 shade light then the color you wanted or 2 shaded lighter

Go back and dye it againBlack hair, i dyed it a lighter colour (went to the hair dressers) but hasnt really changed, what to do?
Do What Uu Thinks Best :) All Ii Can Say Is Good Look On That And I'm Sure It Looks Good Anyway :) xx
dye it blonde.
once youve dyed your hair then it is hard to change it again the most you can do is wait til you can see your roots coming through.

i cant believe you wanted to dye prectically black hair brown. you wont see much of a difference as it has to be dark brown before it goes light brown. you have to keep redyeing it so it goes lighter or leave it and let it stay black. use the anitdandruff shampoo if you want to get rid of the dye but if you dont then when the hairdresser does it next time dont let her use it.
it is very hard to lighten your hair once you start dying it.

the only thing that will lighten your hair once you dye it any colour is bleach you could put a blonde on your hair and nothing would happen.

anti dandruff shampoo does tend to strip colour but not to the extent to lift your hair two shades lighter??

what did she do to your hair when she coloured it??

your best bet is to have it done in a salon a bleach bath which will strip some of the colour out your hair will go red then for them to dye over the top of that colour to make it a dark brown it will prob still be very warm as black is a very hard colour to get rid of.

having it done in a salon means you wont damage your hair they will know how much they could do to your hair without damaging it.

what did you have done when u went to the salon??1
