im a quiet person who doesnt really care to conversate about anything outside of what i do. but i know when u go to a salon people like to talk to you while they are cutting hair, i admit it makes it less awkward and stuff, so when i become one what can i say to people i have nothing in common with? im no good at starting conversations!As a hair dresser/stylist, what the heck would i talk about with my clients?
People like to talk about their kids.... so you can say do you have kids? and they will state, yes, I have a 2 year old and a 6 year old. Are they boys or girls? I have a girl and a boy. Jimmy is the oldest and Sarah is my sweetie pumpkin..... etc.
As soon as you come up with one topic, it usually gets the ball rolling. You show an interest in them, will also reward in a better tip too.. lol

i dont know im like you and i want to be a hairdresser but my mom was one and she used to ask the people if they were in school what school they went to, sometimes about music, if a song she liked came on. all i can say is just think of stuff to talk about like hair, school, the weather, the day lol
Edit: you dont have to talk to them the whole time just so its not boring for them just sittin there if your doing there hair for 2 hours lol
and also you could ask them if they want to read a magazine so there busy reading a magazine and your doing there hair so you dont really have to talk
I do not think it as important to fin things to talk about as it is to read the person that will be in your chair.
Some people don't like chatty hairdressers ~ some people are having a bad day %26amp; just want to sit ~ others like to talk %26amp; they can continue the conversation if you just ask how are you today ~ they will take it from there %26amp; you can follow ~
Personally I am usually quiet in the chair %26amp; just want to relax.
Owe ~ the day~ sports ~ your kids ~ others kids ~ fav time where you just went or a cool spot you just visited....... Whats on tv where you work...
Just relax %26amp; go with the flow
