i dyed my hair black with a semi permanent black 3 months ago. and it never came out. Now i'm getting really sick of the black, so i'm wondering if i can dye over it will a deep auburn color. will it not work?

Have to bleach your hair first.

You MIGHT be able to get it a dark/medium brown, I'd say an auburn might work.
Black is really hard to get rid of, much like any trace of red.
If you're planning on dying it yourself with a store bought box, I would say it most likely will not work. It will probabl turn you're roots a different color and leave the rest black.
You can get something at a drug store called, ';Hair Opps'; or something like that. It's like shampoo, you put it on your hair and leave on for some long, it takes the color out. Then you can dye it, with just a store bought box.
If you go to a hair dresser they may have to bleach/strip your hair, which isn't too healthy for it, but I had it done and my hair isn't alright, it's pretty weak, but it's gotten awhole lot better than when I first did it, it's been about a month, a little less.
has it faded at all??? you can only dye over it with a darker color. and dont use box color cuz u never no wat ur gona get! if its still super black and the auburn that u want is lighter than ur hair, then u can always strip the color from ur hair and then dye it auburn but go 2 a salon ....much easier and they no exactly how to lighten ur hair so that u can dye it a diff color.
no. color doesnt remove color. it only deposits.
You'll need a color stripper or bleach to remove black hair color before coloring over it with a deep auburn to see any differece in lightness/color
Nope. You'll need to bleach your hair first. Color can't lift color.
dont do it urself it will turn out messed up
i suggest going to geet in done at a hair dresser!
