anyone got any hints or tips??? she only wants to trim about 3 inches at the most off of them, read that its better to use thinning scissors, any advice please :o)Hi, the GF just bought 3 clip in hair extensions as they are fairly long she wants to cut them a bit shorter?
if i was to cut them id cut them with normal scissors or any really but cut upwards on a sort of slant, dont just go straight in for it, you have to make it look natural...
try going onto a proffesional website on cutting hair, it will give you advice on how to cut themHi, the GF just bought 3 clip in hair extensions as they are fairly long she wants to cut them a bit shorter?
I cut my extensions like slanted and then kinda chopped into them a bit, i am a trainee hairdresser and that is how we were trained.
clip them in then cut them
If you know how to use them then use the thinning scissors so they get that uneven real hair look at the ends i had to cut mine directly across because i don't own a pair and they still look really cool the best advice is to cut a bit a little at the time they look OK being a bit longer and don't look very good if they look too short.
she should do it
If she clips them in where she would usually wear them and then trim them with good quality scissor, preferably hair scissors, she can then trim them to the correct length and check that it fits in with her hair. Or get a trusted friend to do the same job for her :).
Is OK to trim.
Let her do it herself because if you do it wrong....... well anything could happen. You want to make an excuse and go out! Trust me on this one. We girlies are very protective over the locks.
the best thing would be if you are a great BF put the clip ins in and let her cut them, just tell not to go straight for the 3 inch but to do it gradually and just use thinning scissors on the ends to finish it of....
make sure you dont cut them straight across, it will look funny that way, and make it kind of layery
