If you really want to cut it, you should cut off at least 10 inches and have it sent to Locks of Love! They can use the hair for children who have lost theirs. 10 inches is the minimum doations they accept.
I used to have beautiful long hair. I decided to cut it and it was the worst mistake I ever made in my life. If I wanted it to appear short, I just put it up. When it was short, I had to have it shaped every month. It was a pain in the butt. I grew my hair back out and I'll never cut it again, but you can cut your hair anyway you like it. I just don't recommend it.
Well if it's just for the split ends I'd say take about 1-2 inches off..


If you want it short then however short you want it really..

i think cut it just a litlle to get the dead ends off... i used to have short hair and i hated it... i always put it up in a ponytail, and it didn't look good for a skater chick, so i grew it out and now it looks really skater...
