Should I cut my long hair short? DESPERATE FOR ADVICE!!!!?

I have had the same long hairstyle for about 7 years. I'm ready for a change. I'm not sure if I should keep my long hair and style / cut it differently or if I should go for a shorter look - something between my shoulders and my chin. I have a longer face with a big forehead. Currently my hair is down the middle of my back - but it just seems so unkept at times. I am not willing to go blonde/ red. Please look at my photo, and tell me what you think.

Thank you SO much!

i would have new layers(maybe a bang fringehttp://www.expertvillage.com/video/57954鈥?/a> in and cut to your shoulders..it will make all the difference i was going to have mine cut off as it like yours but hairdresser adviced shorter with layers im so pleased with it..your hair looks in great condition too and a beautiful colour(beautiful girl too)...so a good cut is all you need.

im in 2nd yr of hairdressing training!Should I cut my long hair short? DESPERATE FOR ADVICE!!!!?
I forget the website, but if you do a search you can find it, where you can download your pix, and try different hairstyles on yourself, but speaking as a beautician of 30+ years...if you are going to change it up alittle, don't do anything drastic...it will literally throw you into shock!

I'd say, maybe right at your shoulders, with a few subtle layers, and a partial bang...would enhance your features the best...it also looks good long, but I'm sure everyone tells you that...I keep my hair long also, but every 2 years I bob it off, and donate it to wigs for kids. Little leaukemia patients, that can't afford wigs...it makes me feel good, and my hair doesn't just end up in the trash somewhere.
Wow Your hair looks really nice as it is, if its not layerd why not try that :) . I wouldn't dye your hair its a nice colour. x
Don't die it, but maybe cut it to your shoulders for volume.
i like your hair long, dont cut it short, just add some layers or some highlights
i think your hair would look great both ways.

don't dye it though. you've got a great hair color.
try a wig first...I have heard many horror stories of a hair cut gone wrong.

it is a hard thing to decide, I had a friend with long hair like yours but finally after 14 years she as tired of it...had it cut. She loves it said she'll never go back.

Remember its only hair, so yeah get it cut but make sure its how you want it and all, if you too worried at first go for a cut thats not so short, the bolder you become, the shorter the hair. LOL

I do always make sure that my stylist leaves my hair long enough to put in a ponytail...because thats always the default do if you hate how your hair came out.
