Can cutting your hair from very long to very short make it thick/wavy/puffy?

3 years ago my hair was really long and STRAIGHT but i cut it so it was from like mid-back length to up to my ears. then i washed my hair the day i got it cut but when it dried it was like thick and wavy and extremely puffy/poofy. now its still really wavy/puffy/thick but i straighten it so its not as bad.

so can cutting your hair from very long to very short make it thick/wavy/puffy?

i think it does because my hair used to be straight but right after i got it cut and washed it became like that.

and i want to find out because my mom doesnt think getting it cut made it go crazy. Can cutting your hair from very long to very short make it thick/wavy/puffy?
you may not have noticed it, but towards the top of your head there is more of a wave then down lower. Getting it cut short didn't change it at all, it just made it easier to see the shape of the hair closer to the top of your head. Can cutting your hair from very long to very short make it thick/wavy/puffy?
It depends on your age. the same thing happened to me. But last summer.

My hair used to be straight and not frizzy, but then after the summer, and after i cut it, it became frizzy and puffy, and verry wavy/curly.

But im not sure what its from: going to thailand, where it was soooo humid, getting it cut, OR just hitting puberty. (im 14 now)

i would have to say the puberty did it for me, but getting it cut DOES make your hair strands lighter, so it doesnt hang down as straight as before. it might be puffier.
Depends on your hair type.

If you have naturally, bone straight, and generally flat hair. then no.

If you have thick, voluminous hair, then it most definitely will.

I have wavy, thick, full hair. And when I cut it short, it was a disaster. It was extremely fluffy, and too short to pull back into a pony.
When your hair is longer it is heavier so it will make your hair flatter. If you have thick hair getting your hair cut short without having it thinned out with look odd. If you blow dry your hair using a round or vent brush it will help calm it down and adds shine. I would still you a defrzz syrum since you are still blow drying.
My guess would be that since it was long, it was weighed down by the length. Now that it is shorter it must be doing what it should without the added weight.
No, just look at Selena Gomez.
it makes your hair thicker and wavy but it helps the frizzy
