You only need to trim when you start getting split ends.
If you don't have split ends, then don't even worry about it.
It's not necessary* for you to trim your hair every x amount of time.
Trimming without reason will just make you have to wait longer to get your hair longer.

hair grows a t approx half an inch per month so if you want to grow it long cut off less than that.
