I have really long hair, almost passed my back. I had it for so long, I felt like it's been a part of me but the thing is, it's getting in the way of me getting a job and other things like that ( I'm sure you know what I meen).
So, I do not know what to do. Some people are saying CUT IT, and others are saying Don't cut it! I'm so confused, I need to get a hair cut in order to get a job. If I can't get a job, I won't be able to pay my tuition! (FInding a job that allows long hair is such a pain in the ***, it's so hard to find one).
I had an idea that might pull through. I was thinking that I could leave a really small portion long but leave the rest short. So, I could keep a small long like tail instead of cutting all of it off, what do you guys think of that idea?

DO NOT CUT IT...i am a guy who also has long hair, and trust me u will find a job. Just have a word with the manger of whatever business you are applying to. Explain that you will always have your hair tied in a pony tail, or any other way suitably for the job. Short hair just makes you look like an other regular guy, its good to be unique with really long hair, like you and I do! LONG HAIR, DONT CARE LOL.Should I cut my really long hair short? Urgent!?
When you have long hair it is a very hard decision to cut it; thats why
I always heard that you should cut it a little at a time.
Cut as much off as you feel comfortable and wait a week or so and go
back and take off some more hair. I'm sure you'll like your look it just
takes time to get used to it.
I'm not a big fan of the tail or mullet look... I think that it looks really dated, and people may judge you based on that alone.
With that said. Just cut your hair in phases... Start by having it cut shorter than where it is currently. And slowly cut it down until you find a length you like.
You can always cut more off, but when it's gone, it's gone!!!
I think you should cut 10 inches off, and donate it. You will still have plenty of hair. And you will still look good. I think you should at least cut it half way through your back. That's how long ,mine is, and i don't allow it to grow any longer. Cause it can get annoying. I am getting my haircut today, and am deciding how short to cut it =/

hair will always grow back so don't sweat it.Maybe its time for you to experiment as see whether a shorter cut suits you or not.or you can try a radical bob cut....the choice is endless.....just remember, if you don't like it it will grow........take it easy...........
i think that would look a bit wierd. just get a few inches cut off. not too drastic, but enough to get you a job!!
or you could always tie it up in a bun for work, then people wont be able to tell how long it is...

Go for it! If you cut it, and then regret the decision, you can always let it grow again. Hair decisions are the most flexible decisions in life!
I say, express yourself...and then change it if you want to!
like a jedi?i feel if the hair is getting in the way it isn't worth keeping, donate it to locks of love or some other charity.
becarefull on this one.if you cut your hair too short you may not like it so dont make a rush desion cut a little bit see what works on you.it depends on the shape of your face .....best of luck
Same here.i just got it cut on Wednesday. The day before school...
mines up to my shoulders now...and its not bad at all i luv it.its easier to deal with.
Why not just cut it so its just past your shoulders.
Is yoru hair that important that you would sacrifice a job and stuff?
I think you should cut it. My Brother in Law had hair down past the middle of his back and cut it really short and he looks SO much better now...

Cut and give it to Locks of Love. I've done it twice and I feel really good about it. Then you won't just lose your hair, you will have given it to a child who doesn't have any.
I think that you should cut it anyway. Even though you are cutting it, though, you can still keep some length. Get a sexy almost chin length cut or other longer style.
Besides - you're going to cut it at some point, right? You aren't going to keep long hair for the rest of your life, are you? You might as well give it a try now then. It can always grow back.
